Telstra is proposing to remove a payphone from a suburb in Launceston's North.

The card and coin payphone on Lilydale Road at Rocherlea would be removed.
This would mean the closest payphone would be located at 119 George Town Road at Newnham.
The payphone is clearly damaged and has no phone.
Telstra intends to make a final decision on June 5.
It is asking for public comments on the proposal.
Comments can be made in writing to Telstra Payphone Siting Manager, Locked Bag 4850, Melbourne, 3001.
