Tasmania Police has strongly urged anyone with information about the suspicious death of a 22-year-old man found by the side of the road with a gunshot wound in the state's south to come forward.

Jarrod Leigh Turner, of Gagebrook, died in suspicious circumstances near Colebrook Road, Richmond, early Sunday morning.
Police are working to establish the circumstances around how he died and how he came to be in that location.

Tasmania Police Detective Inspector Doug Rossiter strongly urged anyone with information to get in touch with police.
"We are very confident there are people out there that have information that could help detectives solve this case," Detective Inspector Rossiter said.
"There are indications that the victim may have known the people that he was with shortly before he died.
"We have tracked some of the movements of Mr Turner, prior to his death, and we are aware he spoke to a number of different people.
"There is certainly more than one person we are keen to speak with.
"We are gathering evidence from every source possible including social media, and will continue to do so."
For operational reasons further information cannot be provided at this point.
Detective Inspector Rossiter said the tragic and unfortunate incident has deeply affected the family of the victim.
