Ruckman Hamish Leedham and captain Jobi Harper accompanied their coach in a clean sweep of the votes for the Blues as Harper picked up his second single vote in the past two weeks for his 31 disposals which included 18 hard-ball gets.
Pick six in the 2006 AFL draft, Thorp's six goals, alongside young forward Alec Wright's three, set the tone for Launceston's first win of the season, a 53-point commanding victory against the Demons.
"He presented well all day. He probably missed a couple of sitters but if he's getting that many shots a game, he's always going to kick a few," injured co-captain Jay Blackberry said.
Lauderdale big man Haydn Smith, forward pocket Matt Elliott and Tigers FC full-back Blake McCulloch picked up their maiden votes for the season as Lauderdale struggled to convert their inside 50s to the scoreboard as they defeated the Tigers by 26 points.
Squeezing out the likes of Jacob Gilbee (three goals) and Ed Trupp, who restricted forward Michael Paul to one goal in the Southern clash, Smith provided plenty of the ball for his midfielders who entered the attacking 50 a total of 66 times for their 25 scoring shots in the 8.17 (65) to 5.9 (39) win.
Glenorchy joined Launceston in completing a clean sweep of the votes as live-wire small forward Callen Daly, 500-goalscorer Jaye Bowden and attacking midfielder Ben Kamaric starred in the dominant 62-point win against Clarence.
Daly kicked three and Bowden six, as the forward line produced 36 scoring shots in a one-sided affair with coach Paul Kennedy calling it "the best case scenario".
Bowden joined Tasmanian AFL legend Peter Hudson in Glenorchy's 500-goal club to add another accolade to his spectacular career.
Smith may have to wait several weeks to add to his player of the year tally however, with his bump on Tigers' Jakob Lister to be referred directly to the tribunal.
In other indiscretions, Lauderdale team-mate Nick Raglione has been offered one week with an early guilty plea for rough conduct on Luke Graham and North Hobart's Oliver Di Venuto had his striking charge on Ethan Conway reduced to a low-level reprimand.
