Hayden Spaanderman, 10 of the John Calvin School was named this year's winner of the Brixibition school competition.
The competition involved more than 40 schools and 1800 children from across the North putting forward their best Lego creations.
Hayden's winning piece was a recreation of Cradle Mountain; he was inspired after recently visiting the area on a family holiday.
"We saw snow for the first time and I was really happy about it," he said.
"I thought of building this to represent what I saw."
In other news:
It took Hayden four full days of work to complete his Lego artwork.
"We've just got three boxes just full of random Lego so we just used all that," he said.
Hayden said he was very excited and a little surprised he won the competition.
"It felt great," he said.
"I was not expecting to place at all or anything, and then to come first was a very unexpected surprise."
