The polling of 1100 Tasmanians in late March showed that 24 per cent of those surveyed believed the parties were on the right path on climate change and 26 per cent were unsure.
Sixty-one per cent of females polled believed the Labor and Liberal parties were not addressing the issue properly compared to 54 per cent of men.
Those aged between 35 and 54 years old had the most concern.
Tasmanian Greens senator Nick McKim said the poll results indicated that people wanted on action on climate change sooner rather than later.
“More and more people are becoming aware of the effects of our hotter climate, with devastating bushfires and record temperatures," he said.
