Weddings at the Albert
The largest wedding expo in northern Tasmania, with over 60 exhibitors from all over Tasmania, will be held this Sunday, April 7, with fashion parades at 12.30pm and 2pm. There will be a choice of venues, caterers, photographers, florists, cakes, hair and make up, and choices for hens or bucks parties - plus, Jannifer Wu an award winning Australian Designer, will be bringing her new seasons' gowns to the Expo for Tasmanian Brides to get a first glimpse. The Bostonians and The Smokin Elmores will be playing live in the Atrium, St Cecilia Orchestra in the Hall.

Jumanji + the Greatest Showman to play
The City of Launceston Council is putting on two free outdoor movie screenings in Civic Square on Saturday, April 6. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (rated PG) will play at 3.30pm, showing the tale of four high-schoolers who are sucked into a video game, becoming the avatars they were playing as, who must then survive the jungle and return to reality. The Greatest Showman (rated PG) will play at 6.30pm, with Hugh Jackman starring in this original musical about the birth of show business. Bring along a picnic, a rug or fold up chair - and check the council Facebook page for updates if it's raining.

Tasmania's biggest sporting event
There are heaps of activities both on and off the track at Symmons Plains this weekend. The 200 kilometre race on Sunday afternoon is the biggest drawcard for the 25,000 people expected to attend each day, but there will also be a family zone with jumping castles, inflatable slides, face-painting, and stilt walkers; a chill-out zone with bites, beverages and bean-bags; helicopter flights, autograph sessions with the drivers, and more.

Two-day M8fest 2019
Tassie rockers The Sleepyheads are bringing their mates down from Queensland, Victoria and around our state for a two-day mini-festival at the Saloon Bar. If you missed the action on Friday, you can catch the punk-flavoured lineup of The Sleepyheads, The Lazy Susans, Squid Fishing, Bukowski (VIC), and Rattus Rattus (QLD) Saturday, March 6 at the Saloon Bar from 8.20pm, $15.
