A group of three men and one woman attempted to break into Kings Meadows News and Lotto, and then headed to the IGA supermarket at Perth, Evandale Post Office, Cellarbrations Mowbray, Mowbray Newsagency, United Service Station at Lilydale and Brooks High School before driving through a wire fence on Goya Road, Newnham.
They used a white 1989 Mitsubishi Triton dual cab utility, that had been stolen from Punchbowl, to ram the front of several businesses to gain entry, Launceston Detective Senior Sergeant John Parker said.
"That vehicle was observed at each of those burglaries... We'd like to speak to the occupants of that vehicle and we'd like any member of the public who knows the occupants of that vehicle to contact us," Sergeant Parker said.
Tasmania Police is still looking for the white ute, as well as a small blue sedan, which was seen at the Evandale burglary.
"The [blue] vehicle was later recovered in Invermay burnt out... so we think they might have travelled to the country and come back into Launceston. We believe all matters are connected."
