Reigning TSL premier North Launceston gets its flag defence under way in Hobart with a night game at Kingborough, while Mitch Thorp's Launceston will meet Glenorchy at Windsor Park.

Both Northern State League netball sides will kick off their campaigns at the Silverdome from 6.15pm before backing up at the same venue early Sunday morning. 

Elsewhere, a new basketball season begins in Launceston as new-look Tornadoes play in the NBL1 for the first time from 7pm, and Derby hosts the first day of the Enduro World Series' second round.
