Patrons had a chance to meet elite cyclists and were entertained by the awesomeness of Borys Zagrocki and his bicycle stunts.
Tourism Northern Tasmania chief executive Chris Griffin said it was great to have riders in the city to highlight the world series' return to the region.
"We are back on the world stage and the world spotlight as Australia's leading mountain bike destination through Blue Derby," he said.
"When we had the event in 2017 it really skyrocketed Blue Derby on its credential."
"We expect to be back in that spotlight and seeing a big boost to mountain bikers seeking biking through Launceston."
In other news:
Cityprom executive officer Steve Henty added Launceston as a location to share in the buzz created from big events like EWS.
"With the EWS bringing in possible 5000 people to come and see world-class bike riders 40 minutes away it's really important that we grab that buzz and be able to put smaller events on and build that following around those big events," he said.
"Launceston's a really great gateway city and a place where a lot of people that are coming are going to be staying."
A number of local businesses have partnered with EWS, including Little Rivers Brewing who will host the Little Rivers Festival village as the event's official hub.
