Cr Peter Rhodes was charged with voting in matter in which councillor has a close associate who had an interest and fail to declare an interest that a councillor has in a matter before any discussion on that matter commences.
It was alleged he voted on a planning application matter in April 2016 that his brother, Chris Rhodes, had an interest in and failed to declare the conflict.
Prosecutor Simon Nicholson told the court the case was listed for hearing on Tuesday but he'd be offering no evidence.
Magistrate Ken Stanton dismissed the charges.
Cr Rhodes applied for cost after telling the court he'd travelled from Flinders Island to be at the Launceston court for the hearing. It was adjourned until a later date.
