Titled The Story of Tonight, the performance includes songs from a number of both well known and contemporary musicals.
Launceston Musical Society's Kristen Landeg said ensemble roles were open to anyone that wanted to be a part of the performance.
"We're utilising people from the Launceston community ages nine and up," she said.
"It's really important to give the people of Launceston the opportunity to perform and in a capacity where everyone's welcome."
A number of talented Launceston singers and musicians will make appearances in the showcase, including drummer Bailey Landeg who has just returned from performing School of Rock in Melbourne.
The Story of Tonight will be presented at Scotch Oakburn College's senior campus's performing arts centre April 26 and 27.
