Ms Bowden will share that experience at the Inspiring Women in Leadership Lunch, hosted by Eaglecrest Technologies, Hays Recruiting and the Launceston Chamber of Commerce at The Boathouse on Wednesday.
"I've been involved in lots of businesses. My approach is not as a woman in business, but in knowing the value I can bring," Ms Bowden said.
Even when being involved in a business as its "face" or a model, Ms Bowden said she often started working in the business within months because she showed her business nous in other areas.
"We need to change how we think as well. As soon as we become more confident, people don't ask questions," she said.
Tasmanian Labor Leader Rebecca White, Resources, Building and Construction Minister Sarah Courtney, Jinglers Creek vineyard co-owner Fiona Turner and City of Launceston councillor Janie Finlay will join Ms Bowden on the panel.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The panel will cover a number of topics, including diversity, women in leadership roles, the strengths women bring to team-based environments, female workplace stereotypes, soft skills, empathy and women on boards and in government and leadership roles.
"I am really excited to be part of this. It's an amazing opportunity," Ms Bowden said.
Sara Redman, of SRA Corporate Change, will moderate the discussion.
