The motion was passed unanimously by the council; $5000 will be donated to both the Central Highlands and Huon Valley councils.

West Tamar mayor Christina Holmdahl said the council committed to similar relief funds for the Dunnalley and Kentish fires.
"Every time there is a bushfire that affects a smaller council we are always very supportive," Cr Holmdahl said.
"We as a council have a view in the community that there are fellow Tasmanian citizens and if we can support them even in a small way, I think it's just them knowing that we are thinking of them that's important."
Funds donated to the Central Highland Council will be used for firefighting equipment while funds for the Huon Valley will go to purchasing an emergency response trailer.
