New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern even seemed to be somewhat surprised by the attention who actions have received.
This is because her leadership is the expectation many have envisioned for their own countries.
It's a shame Ms Adern's actions have been branded extraordinary. They should be the norm.
A few days after the tragedy in Christchurch, I participated as an executive judge in the Tasmanian Young Achiever Awards.
While we are sworn to secrecy at the moment, what I can tell you is that Tasmania has a bright future thanks to the young leadership talent that exists in our state. The awards semi-finalists showed a demonstration of characteristics that Ms Ardern has been praised for the past week.
Thankfully the Tasmanian Young Achiever Awards exist, to give a platform to these inspiring young leaders and encourage this leadership in all sections of our communities.
The award winners will be announced on May 31. As sponsors, we have tickets to the event and very soon we will announce how you can come along and join in the celebrations of this Tasmanian leadership.
