"I try to use my profile to influence the change that I want to see in the world and in the community around me," Brown told North Melbourne's website this week.
"I'm very fortunate that I've got a platform. I look to live by the values that I've set for myself and that's why I take the opportunity to try and do some good with it.
"It helps keep me grounded in a way. It's really just doing what I think will make a positive change and do good. Whatever I can do to affect that positive change is good."
Brown is part of the club's Gender Equality Action Plan, while also being an unpaid ambassador for Our Watch, a national program to prevent violence against women and their children, and works for North's not for profit arm, The Huddle, provides as one of many drivers to continue striving for change.
He also worked with the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos this AFLW season.
Brown has got to the 100 game milestone the hard way, having ruptured his ACL along the way to being drafted with pick 47 in the 2013 national draft from VFL club Werribee after also playing for Glenorchy in the TSL.
He has kicked 215 goals in his 99 games, including 124 in the past two years, heading into Sunday night's clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium.
