The Bureau of Meteorology predicts that on Monday, a deep low pressure centre will pass to the south of the state bringing rain and a strong and cold westerly airstream.
Monday could be the windiest day Tasmania had seen since early November, with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h possible across much of the state.
Due to this, a severe weather warning may be issued on Sunday.
The Bureau said burnt trees around recent fire grounds are particularly vulnerable in these types of windy conditions.
