The Tasmanian Heritage Council will only intervene in particular situations to place a site on the heritage list if a development application is active. The council are now conducting a review of the policy after a nomination for the Kings Meadows Convict Station last year.
The Tasmanian Heritage Council will only intervene in particular situations to place a site on the heritage list if a development application is active. The council are now conducting a review of the policy after a nomination for the Kings Meadows Convict Station last year.

The state's statutory heritage body will conduct a "timely" review its policy for intervention on sites with active development applications, after a case involving a former convict station discovered south of Launceston last year.
