However, it has confirmed that new Liberal member for Braddon Joan Rylah, who was only sworn in to Parliament on Tuesday will get an extra six per cent loading, or about $8000 a year, as part of her promotion to government whip.
Premier Will Hodgman announced in Parliament that Ms Rylah had been appointed the new parliamentary secretary for regional affairs, reporting to the Deputy Premier.
"Joan will play a key role in driving the government's strong agenda on regional growth, education, health, infrastructure and jobs - issues that are so important to the Braddon electorate, along with other regional areas around the state," he said.
The Liberal member for Prosser in the Upper House, Jane Howlett has been appointed as deputy leader of government business in the Legislative Council.
However, a government spokesman denied Labor's claim that Ms Howlett was getting a $50,000 a year pay rise.
In 2011, Mr Hodgman criticised Labor for appointing Craig Farrell deputy leader of government business and giving him a $40,000 pay rise.
"Is this just a case of Labor looking after its mates and everyone in this government wins a prize," he said at the time.
The government spokesman also said Ms Howlett would not got any extra staff in her new position.
Labor member for Rumney Sarah Lovell took Ms Rylah to task for comments she made about pay rises for public servants.
"These comments are rich given Ms Rylah gave taxpayers a $33,000 bill to open a new electorate office on the eve of the state election in 2017," Ms Lovell said.
"This was an outrageous waste of taxpayers money but yet Ms Rylah has the gall to say that some of the lowest paid workers in the health and hospital system don't deserve a pay rise that would bring them into line with the cost of living."
Lyons Liberal MP Mark Shelton will be Mr Hodgman's new parliamentary secretary.
