Details emerged after Independent Windermere MLC Ivan Dean asked a question without notice in parliament on Tuesday.
"What is the current status and position relative the roundabout to be installed at the East Tamar Highway Mowbray connector intersection?" he said.
"Has the project gone to tender? If not, when will it? When is it scheduled for the project to commence."
Leader of government MLC Leonie Hiscutt answered the question, with approval from Infrastructure Minister Jeremy Rockliff.
"The Department of State Growth will be re-engaging with key stakeholders and making the plans available for public display in the City of Launceston office in the near future," Ms Hiscutt said.

The department originally planned to install traffic lights at the site, but key stakeholders raised their concerns, eventually the upgrade was replaced with a roundabout.
"The design for this intersection upgrade has now been amended to incorporate a roundabout, which will replace the current turning arrangements at this intersection and will facilitate easier movements for traffic turning out of Mowbray Link," Ms Hiscutt said.
It is expected to cost less than $5 million.
