The Northern club, formed in 1958, has appointed its first ever female development officer in former club player Jacinta Hall.
Hall is a physical education teacher at Riverside High School and represented United through her junior career before succumbing to a serious knee injury in 2013.
Hall said while the role was a bit of a work in progress, she planned to develop women within the sport and foster the transition into senior soccer for many of the juniors that struggle with the big gap.
Hall's involvement with Launceston United has spread across generations with her late grandfather, Jock Glass, a club stalwart with Northern soccer circles until his passing in 2015.
"He was the reason my brothers and I got involved with soccer at around the ages of six or seven." Hall said.
"He was really heavily involved in the club. He was involved in George Town in the early days but Launceston United was where his loyalties were."
United also have a strong junior program in which 500 children are currently registered, 70 of them being female due to Hall's involvement at the club.
Launceston United junior president Rod Gardiner said that Hall was referred to the club as an option for the role through word of mouth and was ecstatic with how she had taken the role and worked with it.
"She has a great rapport with both the younger and the senior girls as we have two teams in both the under-13s and 16s competitions, and her willingness to get involved is something that adds to the club's good vibe," Gardiner said
"She is already actively seeking opportunities for the club, including some one-on-one sessions with some of the girls that have never had that opportunity."
Launceston United's female side competes in the Northern Women's Championship alongside Burnie, Devonport, Northern Rangers, Riverside Olympic, Somerset and competition benchmark Ulverstone.
The side commenced its season last weekend with a 7-0 loss to crosstown rival Riverside Olympic.
