Firefighters who work at the Cambridge training centre came to a halt on Tuesday morning after being alerted to inconsistencies with the testing parameters relating to the weight of the mannequin.
United Firefighters Union Australia Tasmania vice-president Leigh Hills said he wouldn't go into specific detail about the issue because it might go before the industrial commission.
"We need to discuss with the department and try to seek a potential outcome, but I believe we can resolve this without going to the commission," he said.
"Once we resolve our concerns with the parameters, testing will recommence."

A Tasmania Fire Service spokeswoman confirmed the physical testing of trainee firefighter candidates was postponed on Tuesday.
Mr Hills said training was not expected to resume until Thursday.
The TFS spokeswoman said the mannequin's weight would be 90 kilograms, but that would be reviewed after this year's recruitment process.
