The George Town teenager played his second Sheffield Shield match earlier this month against Victoria, collecting the scalps of Marcus Harris and Nic Maddinson.
Freeman was dropped for the clash with Western Australia but should retain his state contract for 2019-20.
"He probably didn't start the game as well as he'd like with the ball but I thought he showed great fight with the bat in both innings," Griffith said.
"He got 20-odd in the first and was not out at the end when we got the draw and I thought his bowling improved as the match went on - he found the pace he needed to bowl on that wicket against those players.
"We're very happy with what Jarrod's been delivering - he's shown some great maturity and he's grown up a lot in the last six months when it comes to his cricket and we're very happy with how he's going."
