March is Epilepsy Awareness Month and the hotel has encouraged other Launceston businesses to throw their support behind the cause ahead of Purple Day on Tuesday, March 26.
Other organisations are involved in purple floodlighting during March include Country Club Tasmania and City of Launceston, with Bunnings Kings Meadows hosting a fundraising barbecue on Sunday, March 31, and Flick the Bean and JJ's Bakery listed as Purple Supporters.
About 250,000 Australians live with epilepsy, a condition Epilepsy Tasmania describes as "a disorder of brain function that can happen to any one of us, at any age and at any moment".
Epilepsy cannot be cured, however most types can be controlled through anti-epileptic medication.
