Northern Tasmania still has so much to offer in the cooler months and this time of year the art scene makes a resurgence with a host of wonderful events to enjoy.
Ten Days on the Island kicks off in the North East March 15-17. With so many dynamic events happening I would recommend you check out their website and plan your weekend.
If you are looking for something to entertain the kids check out page 5 for Cassie's preview of a much loved Russian fairytale with a modern twist.
Staying with the arts theme, Encore is back on stage from March 14 - 30 at Theatre North with Australian classic Strictly Ballroom.
Take a peek behind the scenes on pages 6 and 7.
Wrapping up a very art focused three months will be Australia's first ever Musical Theatre Festival, held in the heart of Launceston May 23 - 26.
Festival manager, Jane Forrest caught up with Northern Exposure to talk about what was on offer for performers, local musical lovers and aspiring stage stars. Check out the interview on page 10.
And if you're looking for something truly different to do this autumn, check out the Tasmanian Garlic and Tomato Festival held just outside Launceston is Selbourne on March 17.
It's a day steeped in everything tomatoey and garlicky - with tastings, produce, guest speakers, competitions and more, a great day out for all the family in the glorious Tasmanian countryside.
