At 7pm, I Remember You will go around in the $50,000 Benchmark 78 at Sandown and 2-1/2 hours later Life On The Wire will tackle the $20,000 Open Handicap at Mowbray.
The last time they raced was in the $150,000 Vamos Stakes on Launceston Cup day when they went down to Twitchy Frank in a three way photo-finish.
Life On The Wire (third) raced outside the leader and fought on bravely, while I Remember You (second) box-seated on the fence before getting a split between runners and finishing strongly.
The 1200m Open Handicap highlights a big nine-race card at Mowbray and there are plenty of chances, with Life On The Wire heading the opening bet365.com market at $3.
Topweight Blaze Forth and Liffeybeau are rated the main dangers at $3.80 ahead of Fragment at $7 and Gee Gee Lanett at $9.
I Remember You will be the first of several Tasmanian runners in Melbourne in the next month.
Top sprinter I'm Wesley is entered for the $200,000 Hareeba Stakes at Mornington on Saturday, having run a close second in the same race last year.
Twitchy Frank, Settler's Stone and Zatacla are likely to run at the metropolitan meeting at Bendigo the following week.
I Remember You's stablemates Hellova Street and Lady Pluck are pencilled in for races at Caulfield on April 6.
MELTON NEXT CALL FOR RYLEY MAJOR
Beauty Point trainer Rohan Hillier isn't wasting any time with comeback pacer Ryley Major.
Just six days after winning at his first start for almost three years, Ryley Major will tackle a $20,000 M0 at Melton on Saturday night.
Ryley Major was brilliant at Mowbray when resuming and Hillier told the Tasracing web site after the race he was "by far the best horse I've ever trained.
"I've been saying that since day one," the trainer said. "His mother Shez Ryleymak was a star for us and this bloke would pick her up and tow her."
It's been a long road back for the now six-year-old who has won his past 10 local starts including the Tasmanian Derby and Globe Derby Stakes in 2016.
"We've had a couple of setbacks with him along the way but he's been back in work for six months now," Hillier said.
"We spend a couple of hours with him every day treating him and getting him right."
This week's main Tasmanian harness meeting at Devonport on Sunday night features four $12,000 races, the Allen Williams Memorial, Leigh Plunkett, Latrobe Cup and Patrons Marathon.
