Kings Meadows man Jacob Adam Williams and Launceston man Marcus John Williams have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a 26-year-old man was allegedly shot in the leg while sitting in a car parked on Pinkard Street about 7.30pm on January 11.
Defence lawyer Evan Hughes represented Jacob and Marcus respectively on Monday.
Mr Hughes told the court a preliminary proceeding application was being finalised.

Justice Robert Pearce remanded both men to reappear on March 22.
The co-accused are not related, despite sharing the same surname.
Jacob's girlfriend, Tayla Ebony Stevenson, was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm in relation to the shooting.
The 23-year-old Kings Meadows woman has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
