The forum, at The Tramsheds Function Centre, aimed to "bring women together from various industry roles, to look beyond their own farming enterprises and gain new insight to areas within the sector".
In introducing the forum, association chief executive Peter Skillern said the word "farmer" was not gender specific, and had never been, but the role women played in agriculture had been misrepresented and misunderstood.
"Over 50 per cent of the world's farmers are women and in Australia alone women generate almost half the on-farm income."
Mr Skillern said the agricultural body planned to make Inspire an annual event.
