As part of World Plumbing Day, Master Plumbers Tasmania visited German Shepherd Rescue Tasmania to install automatic water dispensers, a dog pond, and taps.
They also supplied shelters for the dogs.
Manager Trudi Petersen said she was thankful for the help.
"It's totally amazing, we weren't expecting it at all," Ms Petersen said.
The breed specific not-for-profit rescue has been operating since 2014, and is currently home to 12 German Shepherds.
Ms Petersen said the new additions meant she had more time to spend with the dogs.
World Plumbers Tasmania president Anthony Balik said they helped out as part of their Community Giving Program.
"We are very fortunate to have the high standards of plumbing that we do in Tasmania, so we like to dedicate World Plumbing Day to community charities by helping out and making life a little bit better," he said.
