Former My Kitchen Rules contestants Henry and Anna Terry had just about given up hope of ever seeing their beloved dogs again. 

But on Thursday morning the siblings awoke to find two-year-old Doug and three-year-old Poppy on their doorstep, at the family's Evandale farm. 

While looking a bit run-down and understandably tired, Anna said both dogs seemed very happy to be home. 

"We have no idea where they have been, or how they got back," she said. 

"They are both exhausted, but very happy to be back.

"It is very out of character for them to be gone for so long.

"We have been leaving food out for them every night, but this week we were starting to lose all hope."

While Doug, a trained truffle dog, was showing signs of a sore paw, Anna said both dogs seemed to be unharmed from their excursion. 

"They are just sleeping at the moment," she said. 

"Doug is a bit lame on one of his front paws. 

"We will be taking them both to the vet today for a check over. 

"Hopefully that might give us a better indication of what they have been up to these past two weeks."

Anna said the family had been overwhelmed by community support, since reporting the dogs missing. 

"We have had so many calls, from people as far as Hobart, Sheffield and Devonport," she said. 

"It has been great to know we live in such a supportive state like Tasmania and we can't thank people enough for helping spread the word."
