I like to do the little things, hustle on defence, run the floor and crash the boards.
- Brittany Hodges
The 25-year-old is the first import to join the team ahead of the 2019 season.
A former US college player with Furman University, Hodges arrived in Launceston this week and said she was looking forward to making an impact.
"It is a really exciting opportunity for me," she said.
"Training has been going really well so far. I have just been getting adjusted to the new system, but it's a great team."
At 185 centimetres, Hodges played with the South West Slammers in the WA League in 2017 before playing in Europe last year.
Described as an athletic, aggressive player who works hard at both ends of the court, Hodges said one of her strengths was the ability to put the ball on the floor to attack defenders.

The Torns have been training for a few weeks under re-appointed coach Derrick Washington, who guided them to their first championship final in eight years during his debut season.
He said Hodges has already made an impression on the team.
“Brittany will certainly add some extra aggression to our team in the paint, she can score and will be a great defender of us," he said.
"She has impressed us with the couple of sessions we have had already, so I am looking forward to seeing her play with us this season.”
Hodges will be joined by the Tornadoes' second import player Stella Beck from New Zealand next week.
Final import Stephanie Gardner, who is still playing in Sweden, is expected in time for the team's season start against the Southern Sabres on March 30.
