While this sounds counter-intuitive, Mr Hanekroot assures entrepreneurs it is good business practice.
How kind a small business owner is to themselves is an indicator of success, he said.
"I've often said small business owners are some of the most driven people on the planet - they tend to operate in a state of overwhelm because they set the bar too high for themselves."
"I believe that a business and its owner are a reflection of each other. If you want your business to be something different, you need to be something different," he said.

Instead of juggling too many balls and not being able to stop to focus on priorities, Mr Hanekroot instead suggests taking time away from the business to increase productivity.

"You need to end your day feeling good about yourself."
Mr Hanekroot will speak about the important of well-being in small business at the federal government's Small Business Fair at Hotel Grand Chancellor, Launceston, on Wednesday, March 27.
The fair runs between 7.30am and 2pm, with attendees hearing from expert speakers, watching demonstrations and talking to government agencies about tax, digital marketing and sales.
