A bushfire advice alert level remained in place for Lanena, Rosevears, Grindelwald, Bridgenorth, Legana and Notley Hills residents, as of Tuesday morning.
A Tasmania Fire Service spokesman said while the fire was burning on private property, there was no immediate threat to nearby homes.
Additional heavy machinery was expected to be brought in on Tuesday morning to help contain the blaze, with aircraft support also likely.
The TFS spokesman said cooler weather conditions predicted for Tuesday were favourable, including a westerly wind change.
Crews were staged at Brady's Lookout, with the TFS advising that fires under these conditions could be difficult to control.
People in affected areas are encouraged to prepare their homes and consider their bushfire survival plan.
