A teenage boy has been accused of robbing a Newnham supermarket.

The 17-year-old was charged with armed robbery after the alleged incident at Newnham IGA on Sunday night.
Tasmania Police allege the boy entered the store about 5.40pm armed with a knife, before demanding money and fleeing with some cash.
The boy has been detained by police and is due to appear in an out-of-hours court sitting on Monday morning.
The staff member working at the supermarket did not receive any injuries as a result of the alleged armed robbery, police say.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Newnham area on Sunday night.
