A morning tea event is hoped to raise much needed money for the local community and beyond this month.
The Australian Red Cross Longford Branch will be hold the morning tea later in March, after a successful games day event late last year raised $1500 for drought relief and other causes.
“This is our major annual fundraising event," said branch publicity officer Joan Barnes.
She explained that March was the organisation's annual door knock month and though the group had organised them in the past, these were now largely coordinated from the mainland.

"As a predominantly older group, we do this instead as our fundraiser for the month."
The morning tea will be held at the Longford Golf Clubrooms on Monday, March 29 from 10am.
Ms Barnes said the cost of $15 would also include entry into the raffle and lucky door prize draws, with reservations due via 0498 976 526 by Monday, March 18.
