Why did you choose to come here?

Lifestyle change and house affordability compared to Melbourne.

What drew you to the area/community you ended up living in?

After looking at potential homes that were for sale we really liked a three-bedroom house at Norwood. We made an offer and got it.

The house was a perfect starter, something we could renovate and bring up a family in.

Do you have a family with you?

My fiance, I proposed on Christmas day, and I really settled in once we found work. We were lucky to have both found jobs that we like, close to home - not over an hour each way like in Melbourne.

Adapting to the Tassie way of life was easier than we anticipated.

Since moving here, how have you found the community/lifestyle?

Absolutely love it. It was definitely what my partner and I needed.

Our anxiety and stress has dropped dramatically, we are better than ever financially, we have a home and recently had a baby, Sienna Lopez, because it is the perfect place to start a family.

What does a day in your life look like?

We have two dogs, a house to renovate, both have full-time jobs, we are very social and we love going out to dinner. A typical day may include breakfast together at home, a walk with the doggies, working on the house, I'll go off to work then we might go out for dinner and continue working on the house.

How do you find the climate and how does it compare to where you came from?

It is not too different from Melbourne, if anything it has been a little colder in winter and cooler in summer.

What’s your favourite place in Tasmania that you’ve discovered so far? Why?

We love the drive to Apslawn and having lunch at Devil's Corner then heading to Bicheno. Greens Beach is amazing as well.

What has surprised you the most since moving to Tasmania?

How many people we meet that have done something similar to what we've done.

Friends of ours have that I met through work moved from Brisbane, people that we meet at the supermarket have done the same, everywhere we go there is a similar story.

Do you think you’ll stay in Tasmania? Why/why not?

We love Tasmania and have no desire to be anywhere else.
