The unavailability of John McCoy (fractured foot) and wicketkeeper Stuart Brown has led to Louis Bordin and Leith Mitchell winning call-ups to the biggest match of the season to date.
Both have played only once at premier league level this season - ironically in two separate clashes with Hadspen - but skipper James Whiteley is confident the duo can perform on the big stage.
"Lewy’s contributed across the board at the club this year, he captains our B-grade team and he does everything," Whiteley said.
"He opened the batting for our A-grade team last year and he bowls very well so we’re looking forward to having him and when he gets his opportunity I’m sure he’s going to take it.
"Leith played the last game against Hadspen and bowled really well - he’s a FIFO worker so he’s only just back this weekend but we’re looking forward to him and he provides a lot of energy in the field.
"They both add a lot to our team and we’re looking forward to having them."
Trevallyn suffered a tight three-wicket loss to titleholder Longford last round and Hadspen looks a similarly formidable opponent with Liam Reynolds, Thanuka Dabare and Sameera Vishwaranga all in great form.
Whiteley acknowledged the Chieftains were as good as any side on their day, but backed his players to repeat the result of the two sides' most recent encounter.
"They’ve got a couple of players who can really take the game away from you so it’s a matter of staying patient and taking your chances when they come, and when you get an opportunity to take it and put ourselves in the best position to win the game."
"We’re looking forward to weathering the storm of their best players and getting on top when we can."
The winner of the preliminary final will meet Longford in the final next Saturday.
