Cornish said being on the Network 10 show so far has been such a roller coaster.
"One day I'm living in Launceston planning to go to university and the next day I'm booking flights and moving to the Sunshine Coast to dance with a mystery celebrity," she said.
"It could have been quite overwhelming to be part of such a massive national TV show, but my stepdad was a professional dancer on the same show a decade ago.
"He was able to talk me through what it would be like."
Cornish said the dance training regime was harder on the celebrities than the dancing professionals such as herself.
"Jett has been a dream to work with," she said.
OTHER NEWS:
"Even though he has no previous dance experience, he is a really fierce competitor which comes from his surf life saving background.
"It also helps that he is physically very strong so when it comes to throwing me up in the air I feel pretty safe that he will always catch me."
When it comes to support, Cornish mentioned she feels like the support from Tassie was her secret weapon.
"If we keep getting the support form Tasmanians that we have so far, we could just win this thing," Cornish said.
"But I also know that nothing beats hard work and that is what it will take."
Cornish has already experienced a successful dancing career, including touring overseas as part of the Burn the Floor show.
She said being on Dancing with the Stars had not only been a highlight as a dancer, but as a teacher as well.
"It's a rigorous process to get selected as one of the professional dancers," she said.
"I feel so blessed to be a part of this sensational show and I will never forget this experience."
