Tasmania Fire Service received the call out to the residential property on Weld Street at about 1.11pm on Sunday, a TFS spokesperson said.
The fire is now contained, with crews ventilating smoke before they begin investigations into how and where the blaze began.

Nobody is believed to have been home at the time of the blaze, the spokesperson said.
Three units from Beaconsfield were assisted by two others from Gravelly Beach and another from Kelso.
