Both patrons of Riverside Tennis Club, the pair enjoyed breakthrough summers in the form of career-best tournament wins.
St Pats student Young won 12-and-under singles in Hobart, while 14-year-old Scotch Oakburn talent Hadley added a runner-up in Milton to wins in Bendigo and Hobart.
"It’s been a good experience," Hadley said.
"Especially travelling to the mainland because there’s not a lot of junior tennis in Tassie so playing against everyone there, there’s a broader spectrum of players.
"I got to see how I was going and I feel like I improved over the stint of it so that was good. [Bendigo] was my first win outside of Tasmania so I was pretty happy to win that tournament, there was a decent-sized field so it was nice to win."
Young credited Jason Fletcher, who coaches both boys, with helping "the little things that make a lot of difference", and the former Victorian was only too happy to return the praise.
"I’m very proud of the two boys," Fletcher said.
"I’m not surprised at all by the recent success they are having as they come from very strong tennis families and are very integral to the great environment at the Riverside Tennis Club.
"It is awesome to be coaching them, I get excited about what the lessons will bring even on the car trip there.
"They turn up with the same level of excitement and then the fun begins. When it’s this much fun the improvement is really quick, so yeah I’m not surprised at all."
