The Riverside Lions Club have made a significant contribution to a national campaign by Lions to help those affected by the floods in Townsville, Queensland.

The club has donated $5000 to relief efforts after the Queensland suffered heavy flooding earlier this year.
Riverside Lions Club secretary Tony Roney said that the Lions Club had been helping with drought relief efforts in Queensland last year and that at any disaster they would be there to help.
"[at] Any disaster you'll find The Lions Club, we're in all these places," he said.
"We are assured that we know where the money we put in will go."
Mr Roney also said the beauty the Lions network is that they are always certain that their donations are going to those who need it most.
The money donated came from various projects conducted by the Riverside Lions Club.
Riverside Lions treasurer Robin Phillips said that many Lions members in Queensland were affected by the floods.
"We've got Lions affected in the area because we have Lions Clubs in all these areas," he said.
"They're generally the first people on the ground because of our organisation and our network."
Mr Roney said that appeal funding will go to numerous issues caused by the floods and will provide support for a considerable amount of time.
"There are going to be so many needs that's going to happen,"
"It's going to be psychological, psychical it's going to be property anything like that.
"We don't just donate and walk away, we're there for the long haul."
Mr Phillips said the Lions Club will be looking at helping those in Tasmania affected by bushfires from January in the near future.
