Just a month earlier, the 28-year-old's best winnings was only $4,500 for taking out another pro-am earlier this year in Ballarat.
But Hawkes pulled off an upset win the Victorian Open to pocket a cool $117,000, along with full exemption on the Australasian Tour until the end of 2020.
Coming off the high from three weeks ago, the Royal Hobart Golf Club professional added another win in the six-hole short course pro-am over a knockout format.
He and Jason Laycock birdied the first hole and continued to trade blows, being squared up the 18th hole.
Two birdies ensured a shootout hole would take place to decide the winner.
Hawkes hit his shot to six metres on the shootout hole, just as Laycock looked to have drawn first blood after reaching within five feet.
But a brilliant 20-foot putt from Hawkes pressured Laycock, who slid his putt away.
“I am grateful to be here in Launceston for the Super 6 Tournament. I played fairly consistent golf over the two days and I’m happy to walk away with the win," Hawkes said.
The pro-am series heads to Mowbray Golf Club Sunday.
