This will be the 37th year of Evandale hosting the championships, with competitors from throughout the Australia coming to the town to take part in the race series.
Around 47 cyclists are signed up to take part in the day, ranging in skill and age levels.
Fair committee member Di Sullivan said that having the championship in Evandale has been good fun.
"It's something a bit different, it's not an event you'll see anywhere else," she said.
"It suits the town because we've got the older buildings and the older streetscape and the bikes fit in well with it."
The nine fastest riders from three heats will be in the running to claim this year's national title, with a four-lap mile-long circuit laid out.
Prominent cyclists include reigning champion James Fowler of NSW, Victorian penny farthing champion Tim Nash and former national champion Brett Richardson of Queensland.
Launceston-native and 2017 champion Darren Singline will be looking to regain his title against formidable competitors, making for a fierce day competition-wise.
Other championships held during the day include a race for women, veterans (aged over 50 plus) and under 16s.
There will also be a number of supplemental novelty races such as an obstacle race and team relay.
"We try to keep the day very family friendly, there are some people who like to ride fast, but some who just like to see the social side," Ms Sullivan said.
The village fair will feature vintage cars on display and additional entertainment.
