The underdogs were on the wrong end of a rampant South Australia on Thursday.
The Tasmanians bowled out their rivals in the final over and were set to chase down 167 for victory but only after giving away 38 extras, which 28 alone were wides.
Star SA batter Ella Wilson notched up 73 off 95 balls that included eight fours.
North Hobart's Maddison Brooks removed four of the top six including Wilson to collect 4-24. But Tasmania were bundled out for just 85.
Only state captain Melodie Armstrong looked at all comfortable at the crease with a well-compiled 32 off 67 balls.
It could have been a far bigger defeat for Tassie after the Croweaters conceded 20 extras including 16 wides.
Opener Gemma Kennedy stood out with the ball for the South Australia, picking up 4-6 off 40 deliveries.
New South Wales inflicted the first defeat on Tasmania at the tournament in a 112-run rout on Wednesday.
Charlotte Camburn first opened with 83 off 109 balls to set up the Blues' score of 8-256 that included 35 wides just as Brooks nabbed 3-29.
Tasmania were way off the pace and settled for 9-144.
Armstrong was run out for 49 while Jade Allen nabbed 4-22 for NSW and teammate Lauren Kua 3-17.
The winless side takes on Western Australia on Friday.
