The in-form left-hander was four not out when stumps were called on day one, but wedding duties will see him trade participating in a batting partnership for celebrating a human partnership on day two.
Charlie Tindall will instead join Jeremy Jackson at the crease to chase down the 131 needed to take first innings points from Westbury.
"We’ve got a lot of confidence in Charlie," South skipper Tom Waller said.
"Hopefully he can carry on with what Jimmy’s done this year.
"I think Jezza’s been in pretty good form in the nets so hopefully he can turn that on and Charlie’s got his chance so hopefully they'll get us a good start and from then on we can build."

South has used the fewest players of any first grade club this season -16 - while Westbury and Mowbray share the equal-most of 21.
Waller said he was happy to be a taking a largely settled side into the pointy end of the year, but indicated spots were still up for grabs in the Knights' best XI.
"You see the [Hobart] Hurricanes - they like to keep a settled side and if you’re using the least amount of players it probably shows your team’s going pretty well.
"But you’ve still got to perform on the day and hopefully we can do that this weekend.
"There’s definitely [first grade] spots up for grabs this week if anyone wants to put their hands up - it’s definitely not set in stone yet."
Jackson will resume on 10 not out, with Nathan Philip, Waller and Sisitha Jayasinghe all yet to bat for the Knights.
LAUNCESTON needs 133 runs from its remaining seven wickets to tighten its grip on top spot heading into the last round.
The Lions held Mowbray to 203 thanks to a promising spell from teenager Jakeb Morris, who claimed his best first grade figures of 3-31.
The former Cressy quick opened the bowling and removed two of the Eagles' biggest scalps - captain-coach John LeFevre and top-scorer Rohan Pooley.
"Jakeb’s a young fella that came to us at the end of last season," Lions captain-coach Alistair Taylor said.
"He played a couple of games in third grade and he’s worked really hard on his game.
"He’s a really nice young kid who's worked really hard and he got some good rewards on the weekend with some good swing bowling and I’m rapt for him, he did really well.
"He’s still got a lot of improvement to go I think and his work ethic is fantastic, so I’m really excited about the future with him being at the club."
Taylor (two not out) confirmed Zac Oldenhof would be next in at the crease after Cam Lynch was dismissed off the last ball before stumps.
"Our planning this week has just been batting long periods of time, and hopefully we’ll be able to knock off those runs if we can do that," he said.
Ethan Conway will replace Damien Jillett in Launceston's line-up.
