Stringent rules must come into play to stop big dollars that assist to kill off those less affluent. Big money is causing unprecedented player movement, making loyalty a thing of the past.
It is impossible for clubs with weaker committees and limited funds to be competitive, and from there the death knell rings.
But the fact is, there are not enough young people playing the sport anymore to replace the dedicated old folks that have been running around for decades.
Maybe technology is to blame, but lack of football or sports being played at school is certainly one reason also behind the decline.
