Tas Racing committee member Sue Rees said fashions at this year's Launceston Cup would be full of colour and floral patterns, for both men and women.
“The judges will be looking at body shape and overall image. They look to see that the outfit has been well coordinated with the head attire suiting," she said.
For women, she said stockings were always classed as "great accessory", with the under garments set to play a big part.
"It’s what’s underneath that makes on top look good," she said.
Shoes are recommended to be in good condition and suitable for the person to make sure they can carry themselves well on the runway.
Men's fashions are also set to be a big task for the judges.
"The men, nowadays, what they add as far as accessories is fantastic, thinking even down to their handkerchief, hat and sunglasses," she said. "The most suitable accessory for them to carry for racing is binoculars."
However, she warned men away from the shoes without socks trend. But, if men were going to do down this path, she suggested they bring bandaids.
Fashions at the cup are normally "hotly contested".
"I think because of the prizes you get people that come from interstate. You get people that actually travel the circuit for the cup festivals for racing," she said.
The Examiner's fashions on the field will be held at 1pm in front of the grandstand. To register for this, entrants must be at that site before 1pm.
