The theme for this year is Balance for Better, with a focus on working towards a gender-balanced world – in the boardroom, in government, with media coverage, employee gender-balance, more gender balance in wealth and sports coverage, club president Jo Hart said.
University of Tasmania volcanologist Dr Rebecca Carey, Tasmanian Aboriginal elder Auntie Patsy Cameron and The Examiner editor Courtney Greisbach will share their thoughts on the Balance for Better theme at the breakfast event.
“There is a fantastic lineup of speakers this year, with three inspiring Tasmanian women as our keynote speakers,” Ms Hart said.
“Gender balance enables economies and communities to thrive.”
IN OTHER NEWS:
Emerging female leaders from Port Dalrymple, Exeter, Brooks, Lilydale and St Patrick’s high schools will attend the breakfast with support from Bell Bay Aluminium and a Rotary grant.
The club is encouraging supporters to strike the Balance for Better pose with hands out stretched, Ms Hart said.
“The Rotary Club of Tamar Sunrise International Women’s Day Breakfast is now running into its sixth year, with last year’s event sold out. We encourage guests to book their table/seat early, so they don't miss the opportunity to hear these exciting speakers.”
