The event, which asks for a gold coin donation to enter, will present 24 food and wine stalls from North and North-East Tasmania.
Stalls will include Little Rivers Brewing Co., Pipers Brook Wines, Wanderer Mead – and one of the most highly-anticipated stalls, the cheese platters made up by the Bridport Girl Guides.
The party is held by Events at Bridport, a committee of six local women.
The groups fundraise throughout the year to keep the Summer Party low-cost.
They simply wanted to put on a fun event for the town, said Events at Bridport committee president Ros Glerke.
“The six of us started it around four years ago, and we hold our fundraisers wholly and solely to put on this event each February,” she said.
“It’s rewarding – everybody just loves it, so it is very rewarding to us to be able to do it.
“It’s something we’re quite proud of, actually.”
Free children’s activities will include a merry-go-round, a jumping castle, face painting, laser tag, and a spinning teacup ride.
The musical entertainment will include the Blackouts and Gypsy Rose.
About 3000 people attended last year’s event – held, as always, on the last weekend of February – and the committee expects even more people to come this year.
“The forecast is going to be good, so the more the merrier,” said Ms Glerke.
“It brings so many people into the town, so it’s really good for all the local businesses.
“It’s getting more and more popular each year.
“We’ve had people from the mainland wanting to know when it’s on – who have been holidaying here in the past and want to plan their next holiday so they can come back again.”
