The communion set dates to about 1846, and is used in every service at the church.
Other “replaceable” items were stolen, but the loss of the communion set has been “hard to take,” rector Dane Courtney said.
“It’s probably not worth a great deal of money, but it’s more the historical significance,” he said.
“It’s not the worst thing that’s happening the world today by any means, but it’s significant for us – the community has really rallied behind the church in Windermere this past year.”
The church has offered a reward, and is following the advice of police.
