The year-long program gives participants the tools to extend themselves, see from other’s points of view, network, work well in teams, and challenge their existing beliefs. 

Launceston Airport planning and development manager Ilya Brucksck signed up for the course because he’d heard from past graduates it was “life-changing”. 

“I think that’s because you grow so much, so quickly,” he said. 

“I’ve learned to look within, and look without, and to avoid pigeonholing myself into a particular view.” 

For Tamar Valley Power Station acting manager Donna McDermott, being interviewed by a newspaper is one thing she didn’t think she would be able to do before the program. 

“I’ve gotten more confidence in myself,” she said. 

“I’d found it a really challenging, and a very enjoyable, year.”
